O projecto irá decorrer durante 12 meses, com 2 momentos de envio: o primeiro momento a partir entre Junho e Agosto 2018 e o segundo momento no início do outono e terá lugar na organização People in need Slovakia que trabalha com desenvolvimento humanitário e integração social em Bratislava, na Eslováquia..
Descrição do projeto e Tarefas Principais (em inglês):
The main objective of the project is to reduce the social exclusion of children and youth from marginalized communities by means of the long-term, systematic and planned volunteer activity, to promote values and the idea of volunteering and to reduce the xenophobic setting of the society.
The activities of the F.A.M.E. project will be carried out in 5 community centers in Eastern and Western Slovakia and they will focus on work with children, youth and adults from excluded Roma settlements. In addition to reduction of the social exclusion of this group, we support community development, community building and reinforcement of mutual respect and tolerance. Within the framework of long-term EVS mobilities, until 2020 we plan host 18 volunteers who will be able to engage in low-threshold centers, in tutorials for children and youth and other community activities. They will take part in the training focused on personal development and gain information on methods of work with youth with risky behaviors, social exclusion, xenophobia, human rights. One of the goals of the project is to create a program of work with volunteers also applicable to other organizations working within the field of social services.
We expect that the project will also contribute to the reduction of social exclusion in the long run and it will support all participants in the development of social competences and skills. The presence of volunteers from foreign countries helps to critically review prejudices and fears of the unknown not only among the inhabitants of marginalized Roma communities but also among the majority population in the communities where are our community centers located.
Volunteers, who will take part in the project will work in our community centers in challenging but very enriching environment of socially-disadvantaged Roma communities. We prefer to co-operate with open-minded, flexible and active sending organisation that will help us choose the right candidates for this kind of experience.
Perfil do voluntário (em inglês):
We search for long term (12-months) volunteers motivated to work with children and youngsters mostly from Roma communities in our community centers all around Slovakia.
Informações logísticas:
Alojamento, transportes locais e alimentação são cobertos a 100% pelo Programa Erasmus+, não existindo qualquer custo para os voluntários.
Despesas de viagem entre Portugal e Eslováquia (ida e volta) 100% cobertas pelo Programa Erasmus+ até ao máximo de 360€/pessoa. É ainda atribuído um valor de pocket money e de alimentação.
Todos os candidatos, devem:
– Residir legalmente em Portugal;
– Estar interessados(a) no tema do projeto;
– Ter entre 18 e 30 anos de idade;
– Ter conhecimentos da língua inglesa;
– Capacidade para estabelecer prioridades nas suas tarefas;
– Gostar de trabalhar em equipa;
– Ter mente aberta e ser adaptável a novos ambientes e culturas.
– Ser sócio da Associação Spin (obrigatório após a selecção)
